The Meridian Neighborhood encompasses the original "Core" area annexed to Bellingham in 1978. Located just south of the Guide Meridian Neighborhood, this 410 acre neighborhood is the core of commercial use outside of the Central Business District. Meridian Street is the most heavily traveled arterial in the city providing the most direct route from the north to Bellingham.
Nearly all of the residential areas in the Meridian Neighborhood are high density. There are many apartment buildings, condominium buildings and single family neighborhoods with compact lot sizes.
